We do not use your information for advertising targeting. There are no advertisers. We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not build behavioral profiles of individual readers.
We use strictly necessary cookies (required for basic site function) and optional first-party analytics cookies. Our cookie consent banner allows you to accept or decline optional analytics. Declining does not affect your ability to read articles or subscribe.
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or social media tracking scripts. We do not allow Facebook, Google, or other advertising networks to track our readers.
Subscription is free and voluntary. We send a maximum of one email per week — the Sunday dispatch. We do not send promotional emails on behalf of third parties. We take the protection of sources seriously. If you contact us with sensitive information, please request secure communication channels before sharing details. We do not disclose source identities without explicit permission and do not respond to informal requests to identify sources. Legal compulsion to disclose source information will be contested to the extent permitted by law and disclosed to sources when legally possible.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of personal data we hold about you. California residents have rights under CCPA/CPRA. To exercise rights, email hello@hollowsignal.press. We respond within 30 days.
We use HTTPS encryption, access controls, and data minimization. We store as little data as possible for as short a time as possible. Our newsletter is processed by a third-party email service provider under a data processing agreement. No internet service is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute protection but maintain appropriate safeguards for the limited data we hold.
Hollow Signal is not directed at persons under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. Contact us immediately if you believe we have inadvertently collected such information.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected with an updated effective date and communicated to newsletter subscribers by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
